What happens if my phone battery dies or I lose my phone?
We understand that this is a very realistic scenario and the last thing you want is to be stranded at your destination with a dead battery and no way to unlock the AirBolt and access your luggage. To overcome this, we offer two solutions. 1. If you have access to another compatible iOS or Android device, you can simply download the AirBolt companion app and sign in with your details to unlock your AirBolt. Or, 2.When you first set up your AirBolt, you will be given the opportunity to set a unique back up code: a button combination pattern that is stored locally on the AirBolt. You can unlock your AirBolt by pressing this combination on the AirBolt’s button pad without the use of a smartphone. Last updated: Sat, Oct 31 2015 3:40 am EDT

How does the Crowdsourced GPS work?
Crowdsourced GPS networks rely on your phone’s location system. The way it works in a simple manner is, well lets suppose you lose your luggage (we hope not though, it’s a pain) and you have locked your baggage with the AirBolt. Well, when someone with the AirBolt (or partner) app walks by, it can detect your AirBolt and send its information up anonymously. The ID of your AirBolt is then matched in our system and the location is updated for you to see. It’s a great solution, especially as Airports are high density areas and there are millions of users on crowd-sourced networks we are aiming to tap into. No sim card needed, no extra on going costs! Furthermore as mentioned we do not plan on creating an AirBolt proprietary network for our crowdsourced GPS. Instead, we’ll be working in partnership with other Smart Device Manufacturers to gain synergies and grow our networks exponentially. AirBolt is one of the first few devices to launch with a Bluetooth 4.2 module which allows users to connect to the Internet via a router or an access point that supports 6LoWPAN over BLE. We will also be working on MESH networking to make the AirBolt’s location services more robust. The cost to incorporate this technology is significantly higher, but we went ahead because in the long run, we’re positive that it will be worth it! Last updated: Tue, Nov 3 2015 9:10 pm EST
Can I use the Airbolt while using other Bluetooth devices?
Yes. The AirBolt and most modern smartphones use the Bluetooth 4.0 or above protocol, which allows for connectivity with multiple devices. Your AirBolt will not come in the way of your sexy new Bluetooth headphones or any other Bluetooth enabled devices. Last updated: Sat, Oct 31 2015 3:40 am EDT
Is the AirBolt splash proof?
Yes. Rainfall shouldn’t be a problem Last updated: Sat, Oct 31 2015 3:40 am EDT
The video says TSA Approval Pending Kickstarter completion, what does this mean?
We are already pre-accepted by TSA to produce 5000 units. For us, it is a simple matter of scaling up this license, paying the relevant fee to do so and getting production ready. Last updated: Sun, Nov 22 2015 8:13 pm EST

Hi All, Just a note that our shipping timelines have been updated. You may keep across them via Kickstarter or via our In-Demand program on Indiegogo
Last Updated At: 01/09/17 | See Kickstarter UpdateWhat is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
